Been WoWing it up with my scroll of resurrection free play time courtesy miss Amber Neely. Also got a prepaid two month game card which I've yet to activate. Think I'm gonna save that for after round one of Deviant Dead (assuming we get in, that is.)

Anyway, I'm playing a Draenai Paladin. Currently lvl 32. Not bad considering I've only been playing off and on for a week. This game is a lot easier the second time 'round. Server is Parenhold on PvE (Normal) play.

Anyway, stupid screenshot time yay!

HOW TO GET POPULARS ON DevART

If there's one thing that bugs the snot out of me on dA, it's when people note me/comment asking "HOW DO I GET MORE ATTENTION?" or "WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?" Like gaining popularity on an internet site is going to somehow make you a better artist, land you a million jobs, and give you all the friends in the world.

So, for those who do believe deviantART is the way to get love, then follow these simple rules and you'll be rollin' in the pageviews in no time!

1) Most people on this site are egotistical. If you go and rub their nuts, they'll rub yours. Aka: Leave lots of OMG I LOVE YOUR ART <3333 comments everywhere and you're bound to get some more attention on your site.

2) Fanart and anime sell like hotcakes. The vast majority of the time, you will NOT get noticed here unless you draw fanart and anime. All the time.

3) If step 2 isn't for you, then you have to befriend lots of people who DO draw fanart and anime all the time.

4) You stay active on this website for a very. long. time. Years upon years.

5) You get lucky and somehow manage to gain a following despite not really trying any of steps 1-4. That's what happened to me. Just luck.

6) This is the most important step: Don't care how many people watch you or comment on your work and just HAVE FUN. Seems the more fun you're having, the more people will be drawn to you.

I've been a fully active member of dA for over seven years. I've seen it all. You can trust me on this. ;0

Okay I LIED

When I said I was "REALLY getting into" the comic, that was short lived. In complete honesty, I was never really sure just how Curiah City would function as a comic/graphic novel to begin with. It's so spread out that it'd take more than a lifetime for me to draw the whole thing. I love the characters, they're my most prized possessions- and their stories keep me drawing. However, comic art and me never really got along.

See, ever since I was a little kid I've always wanted to be an animator. Walt Disney, though he was a douche, has been my idol all my life. While I may prefer the actual drawing and animation style of other artists such as Don Bluth and Chris Sanders, Disney has created an empire based on his imagination and it was his animation that got him there.

I've never taken an animation course- no, an ART class- in my life. Everything I know, I taught myself over the last 20 years. Nobody taught me how to use pencils, markers, a tablet, or photoshop. I did really want to go to animation college, but I could never afford it and my family wasn't all that supportive of my career choice. Guess I don't blame them, I'm the only person in the family who's ever been interested in drawing cartoons. It's unexplored territory to them.

Regardless, I worked my ass off (and still do work my ass off) improving, learning, drawing. I have some professional work under my belt, my biggest project is to come later in the year- concept art for a theatrical release. Real studio work. I'm quite exciting for it even though it'll be in Los Angeles, my least favorite city ever.

Okay I'm getting off track a bit, all I wanted to say is that if ANYTHING is to come of Curiah City- it's a videogame or a film series. This may sound egotistical, but comic art doesn't do it justice.

I'm not enjoying this new job as much as I should be. Working for a client on a long-term project is far more stressful and difficult than working on small freelance commission pieces. I always feel like I'm not going anywhere with it, I'm stuck fixing problems that should have been figured out from the beginning. It's pretty lame. Blagh.

As for the comic, I'm REALLY getting back into it. However I don't have as much time to work on it now. So this is just all kinds of lame. >8| The first three chapters are plotted out. Things will tie together as it goes, trust me. The story will seem jumbled and wtf at first, but it all falls into place. I'm meticulous with my plot devices and I hate to leave any plot holes.

I turn 24 in 3 months. I haven't had a real birthday celebration in three years. Hell, I only ever get maybe two gifts. Not that I'm complaining, I'm very grateful for those who remember. I just sometimes wish more people would.

It's cold and I'm getting goosebumps on my arms. There is no hair on my arms, but I'm getting goosebumps. It is the weirdest looking thing. Looks like I have some kind of horrible rash or skin condition. So gross, yet still pretty funny.

There is a lot of shit on my mind. Most of it is too personal/business related to get into detail about. But it's there.

I really miss being a kid. I didn't take advantage of it at the time. I was very quiet, very awkward. Lived in a redwood forest with nobody around I could just hang out with. Spent a lot of time alone, entertaining myself. I blame my artistic sense on that forced reclusive nature. I had nothing better to do than draw and create. I both love and hate it.

Ever since I lost my best online friend (not by death, by life), I've been trying to make new friends online. It's difficult for me. I'm not as easy going and outward as some. I often feel I come off as a jackass or just plain creepy. It's really not helpful when I'm ignored so often by those I love.

Erik is working constantly now. I hardly get to see him, and when I do it's while he's working.

I feel the only solace I can take is in music right now. I can't talk about my problems with friends. I feel I'm just bothering them. Apparently that's why I lost my other friend. I was a bother. Oh bother.

Anyone noticed how DAMN HARD it is to find scanners nowadays? I mean, just a plain ol' scanner. None of this 3-in-1 printer, scanner, fax machine bullshit. Well, it is hard. Luckily my boyfriend and roomate found a newer version of my old scanner at Office Depot. It was on sale. Yay! No more blurry lines and slow scan time.

I need to stop forgetting this blog exists. Really, I do.

As a few people who snoop around me may know, I've been going through some tough shit lately. Medical stuff, emotional stuff, friend stuff, generally life likes to toss me around a bit. Yeah, everyone gets tossed around. I know. Somehow, this song just totally lit up my mood. It's amazing how much effect music has on my mood, but I can never get enough of that upbeat love life sound.

Sometimes life just feels way too complex. Negative things popping up all around. When you pause to enjoy the moment, well... those feelings tend to just float away. I forget that a lot nowadays, so it's nice to have a reminder every so often to keep me in check.
